Made in Tennessee

If you got the money, I got the time Engraved goods, custom products, jewelry, and metalwork.

Greenworkz is a small fabrication shop in East Tennessee. Laser engraving, etching and cutting, machining, jewelry, 3D printed prototypes, one-off commissions. Everything gets worked out properly before it gets made, and everything gets looked at before it ships.

Run by an engineer who would rather be in the shop.

The person behind Greenworkz trained as a chemical engineer, spent close to a decade in industrial automation, and did about three years of R&D in the nuclear industry. Those jobs all ran on the same rule. Read the spec, work out what the material is going to do, prove it on something cheap, then make the real thing. That rule did not change when the work moved into a shop. A set of coasters gets the same treatment as a machined prototype does. What comes off the bench here: bulk laser engraving, etching and cutting. Woodworking, leatherworking and stone etching. 2D jewelry design in gold and silver. 4-axis machining for prototypes, components, trinkets and casting molds. 3D printing for parts that have to actually work.

More about the shop
  • 01

    Test pieces first

Feeds, speeds and finishes get sorted out on scrap. By the time your piece goes in, the settings are already known good.

  • 02

    Material knowledge

Hardwood, stone, leather, gold, silver, stainless, brass, acrylic and print resin all behave differently. Knowing how they behave is most of the job.

  • 03

    Held to a tolerance

Dimensions, engrave depth and alignment get written down before the work starts and checked after it finishes.

  • 04

    Not a print farm

3D printing here is for prototypes and functional parts. This shop is not going to become a soulless print farm running off downloaded trinket files.

Commissions

If you got the money, I got the time.

Bring a sketch, a photo, a CAD file, or just a rough idea. Greenworkz takes on personalized products, bulk engraving and cutting, jewelry, machined components, casting molds and prototypes. A single memorial piece is as welcome here as a production run for a business.

Most requests get a first response within two business days.

  1. 01

    Submit your idea

Fill in the request form with whatever detail you have. Sketches, photos and rough dimensions all help.

  2. 02

    Greenworkz reviews the project

Your request gets read by the person who would build it. If something is unclear, or there is a better way to do it, you will hear about that.

  3. 03

    Talk through materials and price

Materials, finishes, tolerances and timeline all get worked out before you commit to anything.

  4. 04

    Approve the quote

You get an itemized quote covering materials, labor and shipping. Approve it online or send it back with changes.

Why Greenworkz

  • Engineering habits

Work out what it has to do, then what it should be made of, then how to make it. Nearly a decade in automation and three years of nuclear R&D is where that comes from.

  • Repeatable setups

Alignment jigs and test coupons, so the tenth piece matches the first one.

  • Made in East Tennessee

Designed, cut, engraved, machined and finished here. Nothing gets drop shipped in from a catalog.

  • Bulk or one-off

Engraving, etching and cutting scale up fine. A single commission still gets the same setup work behind it.

  • Custom work

If you can draw it, measure it or describe it, it can usually be quoted. That includes engineering help for small startups.

  • Finishing

Edges deburred, surfaces cleaned, engrave depth even across the whole field.
